Our appetizer and food came together another 30 minutes later. The restaurant was nearly empty, there were maybe 4 other groups when we were there. At no point were we offered even a drink refill. It was not pleasant.
I'm mostly disappointed I had brought people with me...I felt like I had set a bad tone to the evening. Have had a good time there in the past.
Unfortunately was not able to enjoy myself here tonight. I brought two friends who were also very disappointed.
Service was slow with little explanation or warning until after we had been waiting a while for our orders...after 20 minutes, one of our party was informed what he had ordered hadn't even been available, things were running behind because of some take out orders, and his order had to be retaken. (The implication was his requested item ended up as takeout, but that could have been a misunderstanding on our part.)
This is a fun atmosphere, all the food was completely delicious, Rachel was our server and she was beyond awesome, super friendly and fast too. It was a budget friendly fun meal with a lot to take home. 2 of us shared the sampler and tried all the good stuff. I'll definately eat here again.
I thought I would give this a chance after my last experience, mistake. The server was rushing us, no they were not busy by any means, the food wasn't good. Catfish was ok, corn was mushy and had no flavor. It was definitely frozen and then boiled. Chopped pork tasted days old and brisket was over salted. Server brought our food, and after we had taken a couple bites brought us the check. We weren't even halfway through our meal and I wanted desert but apparently the server wanted us out. I do not recommend this place. Find a hole in the wall BBQ joint instead.
My Husband and I finnally tried this place after hearing how good they are. The food was good, he ordered the Brisket and Ribs, I had the Chicken. The sides were also good however our waitress forgot the butter for the cornbread. She came back once right after we got our food, never came back until we had been done with our food for 10 min and waiting to pay. Didn't ever check to see if we needed refills or anything. I will go back for the food despite the lack of good customer service.
The ribs were bangin! Cornbread was great too. So that's why I would go here. Now, it would be nice if they would make a macaroni and cheese without the heat (for people's kids- hello?!) Also, Bush's baked beans put these beans to shame and some of our broccoli was cooked and some was not. Some very minor changes and this place would be killer. Our young waiter was real nice; not constantly in our face brown nosing, yet he really did get everything we asked for . 5 stars for him.
